Reunion Update:

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at this year's USS Salt Lake City reunion, from July 2-7 in Norfolk, Va. We wanted to provide a few updates on the schedule that weren't available when the original letter was sent out.

The schedule for the week looks like this:

Sunday, July 2 - Arrival day

Monday, July 3 - Visit to Hampton Roads Naval Museum, at 1:30 p.m. This museum is a five-minute walk from our hotel. A staff member will welcome our group and provide a docent for the portion of the museum that covers WWII. We are free to explore the rest of the museum at our leisure. There is no cost for this event.

Tuesday, July 4 - Bus tour of the Norfolk area in the morning, and a harbor cruise (lunch included) in the early afternoon. Full details are on the letter sent earlier. That evening we will attend the Great American Picnic & Fireworks event, at the Town Point Park on the Norfolk waterfront. It's just a couple of blocks from our hotel. (Attendance is optional, of course. Not everyone likes fireworks.) There is no cost for this event.

Wednesday, July 5 - Full-day trip by bus to Colonial Williamsburg and the Jamestown Settlement. Lunch on our own in Williamsburg.

Thursday, July 6 - Visit to the MacArthur Memorial Museum, at 1:30 p.m. This museum is a five-minute walk from the hotel. The museum director will present to our group a talk about the Pacific War. We can then tour the museum at our leisure after his talk. There is no cost for this event. We will hold our annual banquet that evening at the hotel. (Please note the banquet cost, as noted in the original letter, was not included in the $174 events and trips fee, as it's based on headcount and we were not able, at that time, to know what that number would be. Mike is talking to the hotel now to get the best deal for the banquet arrangements.)

Friday, July 7 - Departure day.

There are many interesting places to see and great restaurants to eat at, all within very easy walking distance of our hotel. We will have information packets available for you in the hospitality room when we arrive.

Please call or email one of us if you have any questions.

See you in Norfolk!
