LINK: Queen Mary Hotel

The Queen Mary's 346 original staterooms span three of the eight decks and include eight full suites. Each cabin is uniquely appointed, and embellishments vary to include rich wood paneling, Art Deco built-ins, original artwork, and portholes for outside cabins. You may stay in a guestroom once occupied by Hollywood stars, European Royalty or Winston Churchill himself. Either way, here at The Queen Mary, guests do not just attend a function or stay in a hotel room - they become part of the history and the excitement that surrounds her.

From elegant, continental cuisine to casual dining and cocktails, the Queen Mary offers a variety of culinary experiences in 7 restaurants and bars. Sir Winston's, one of Southern California's award-winning fine dining experiences or the Promenade Café, which offers all day dining in a casual and engaging atmosphere. There are also sandwich shops and Starbucks Coffee on board, while providing beautiful harbor and city views for your enjoyment.

Transportation and Parking
The 3 airports servicing the area are Los Angeles International (LAX), John Wayne International in Orange County (SNA) and Long Beach (LGB). All utilize the major air carriers and transportation services, car rental, bus, taxi or shuttle service, accessible to you.

LINK: Super Shuttle provides some of the most reasonable fees for their services. They are available for each of the airports, do online or mobile booking, offer AAA Discounts and are partnered with most of the airport carriers for those who like to use their Airline Rewards programs. One-Way Fees for two passengers from LAX are about $30.00, from SNA, $42.00 and from LGB, about $50.00. When contacting Super Shuttle by phone, (800-258-3826) use Discount Code GUVZ3, for the Queen Mary.

For those of you who might opt to drive to the Queen Mary, there is discounted overnight parking for our members, at $10.00 per night, for self-parking or $15.00, for valet, both with full in/out privileges.

Free Hospitality Suite
A free hospitality suite will be located in the Mauretania Room, near the bow of the ship. It overlooks the harbor, the cityscape and is available all day, as usual.

Sunday Evening Reception
Meet in the Victoria Room and stroll onto the adjoining outside deck for beautiful city and harbor views. Enjoy finger foods and drinks, while you greet your fellow shipmates, their families and catch up on the last year.

General Membership Meeting
Thursday morning is our annual General Membership Meeting, in compliance with the Bylaws.

Reunion Banquet Event
Thursday evening, enjoy a great sit down dinner in the Sun Deck Tea Room.

Tentative Reunion Group Activities
Tour the Battleship U.S.S. Iowa in San Pedro, the only battleship on the west coast.

Visit the Los Angeles Maritime Museum.
Private Harbor Cruise and Dinner, around the Long Beach and Los Angeles Harbors. Fun fact, Los Angeles is the busiest Port in the United States.

Visit the Aquarium of the Pacific. I believe it's the 4th largest Aquarium in the United States.

Shop and maybe dine at Shoreline Village, which is a "touristy" waterfront shopping, dining and entertainment center, near the Aquarium, that overlooks Long Beach's gorgeous Rainbow Harbor.

Styled after a quaint Cape Cod fishing village, Shoreline Village is a family friendly destination by day that develops a sense of romance when night falls. This location has been used in countless movies and television shows.

Guided or self-paced tour(s) of the Queen Mary can be done as a group or individually. Feel free to walk the ship as a group, or by yourselves, to enjoy the history and splendor. See the Engine room, Captain's Quarters or just walk the deck. There is so much history on this ship to enjoy. Guided tours require a fee, but we receive a 50% discount off the pricing. These are well worth the time and expense. The Princess Diana tour is self-paced and costs about $15.00. It takes approximately two hours to see the collection of Royalty items. A big favorite are the tours of the ship's locations said to be haunted. There are even guided tours into the wee hours of the morning, just to try to spot a spook or specter.

The reunion's activities will be finalized soon, but there will be free time and many opportunities for the group, or individuals, to explore the Queen Mary and her history. You might just opt to sightsee, in the Long Beach and surrounding areas.

As always, our Reunion costs are based on participation by our members. If we don't meet sufficient numbers for a specific activity, we either have to increase the costs, cancel or find a new activity.

As you can see, we have gone out of our way to offer this Reunion at an incredibly low price, compared to any venue in the U.S.A., especially Southern California, during the summer. We would like everyone to be able to attend. As we all get a bit older and more set in our ways, we're hoping for a larger than normal Salt Lake City turnout, so we can hear those great (and always 100% true) "sea stories" once again.

I look forward to seeing each of you, very soon, aboard the Queen Mary, in Long Beach.

John A. Mercer, President
