Carleton H. "Pat" Reed, born Dec. 3, 1916, respected criminologist & former University of Colorado associate professor of sociology, died Jan. 12, 1986 at Lutheran Medical Center in Denver, CO. He was 69 years old.

From 1940 to 1942, he worked for the Denver Juvenile Court as a delinquency referee, probation officer and as head of the Boy's Department. He entered the US Navy in 1942 as a combat intelligence officer on the heavy cruiser USS Salt Lake City in the South Pacific and earned five battle stars in several major campaigns, including Okinawa, the Coral Sea and Iwo Jima.
