Born July 29, 1924 in Leadwood, Missouri

Joined U. S. Navy - May 7, 1943, St. Louis, Missouri

Honorable Discharge - March 12, 1946

After training at the NTS Great Lakes, Illinois, and NTS Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Jerry was assigned to the USS Salt Lake City, boarding it June 1944 at San Francisco.

From that time until the war was over, Jerry was aboard during battles at the following: Adak and Attu in the Aleutians, Paramushiro, Pearl Harbor, Wake Island, Eniwetok, Saipan in the Mariannas, Marcus Island, Ulithe in the Caroline Islands, Philippines, Iwo Jima, Chi Chi Jima, Ha Ha Jima, Okinawa and East China Sea, Northern Honshu, Japan.

After his discharge in March 1946, he returned to his hometown. On June 12, 1949 he married Ruth Hodge. They moved to Houston, Texas in 1955, where they lived until his death in October 2004 of melanoma cancer.

They are the parents of daughters Jan, Judi, and son Greg.

Jerry worked mainly in oil field related sales.
