"Looking for "Lost" USS SLC CA25 Deck Logs & Muster Rolls"
ATTENTION

I am attempting to acquire the missing pages of the Deck Logs for the SLC during WWII. I have them from Dec. 1st 1941 through July of 1944. I need Aug. through Dec. of 1944 and Feb. through September of 1945. Charlie & Nell Payne loaned me Deck Logs for Jan. 1st-Jan. 31st, 1945. I should also ask that if anyone has access to any of the deck logs prior to Dec. of 1941 or after Sept. of 1945… those would be great too. I am also trying to locate records and rosters of the ship from when she was commissioned in 1929. Wouldn’t it be great to know the names of the very first members of the crew of the USS Salt Lake City? I’ll keep looking for them and hope that someone has that information and will share it.

I had planned on ordering them from the Archives, but the cost is “.50 cents” per sheet… so I thought I would ask if anyone has any of the ones I’m missing. If so, I would like to “borrow” them and have copies made and then return yours to you.

There are copies of the “Muster Rolls” for the SLC in large binders that Pat Monteleone had. Sadly, he passed away in January and we have no idea if the records are still at his house or how to obtain them if they are. If anyone has a copy of the “microfilm” we can borrow, we would appreciate it. We have a lot of missing records for the SLC that need to be “with” the memorabilia where we will have access to them for “YOU”. If you can help, please let me know. If this doesn’t work, I’m open for “donations” to purchase another set of film and have copies made. Thank you, Sandy. Contact me at: Email

Active Shipmates in the USS SALT LAKE CITY CA25 ASSOCIATION

An Active member in the USS Salt Lake City CA25 Association is a shipmate, family member and/or friend that pays dues. Dues are $40.00 a year, due in January of each year. When you send in your dues you will be added to the roster and receive the "Saltshaker" Newsletter each time it comes out. [3-4 times a year]

Funds received from dues payments are used as follows:

  1. Newsletter printing & mailing Cost
  2. Reunion Book printing & mailing cost
  3. Stationary and other office supplies needed by the Treasurer & President
  4. Cost for some of the Reunion Functions
  5. Yearly Fee for the USS SLC CA25 Website & Domain Name of ussslcca25.com
In the past, money from the Assoc. Fund was used to supply the inventory for the Ship's Store. That is no longer necessary, as the Ship's Store is self-sufficient. Money collected from the Ship Store sales is used to re-stock and add new items for the store, plus purchase office supplies and whatever is needed for the Historian to preserve the memorabilia of the USS SLC CA25. Purchasing items from the USS SLC CA25 Ship's Store helps support the Association. Check it out!
