The National Museum of the Pacific War, located in Fredericksburg, Texas, has a fund raising project that includes recognizing certain ships each Memorial Day. During the annual Memorial Day Ceremony, a representative from the ship is recognized, and a separate wreath is placed in front of each ship’s plaque. The one-time donation of $1,000 covers every subsequent Memorial Day. This will insure that the U.S.S. Salt Lake City (CA25) will be memorialized every year and also help the only museum in the country totally dedicated to the history of WWII in the Pacific.
