I was browsing history of USS Salt Lake City. My father, Charles Erasmi USMC private, served on her before WWII in the 1930's. Do you have any knowledge of where I could find a listing of personnel who served as Marines in that time? The history is very interesting.

I don't know the exact dates of my father's service but do think it was well before 1938. I would think in the early 30's maybe 1931. He was in Rio De Janiero and in Haiti and Cuba.

There are pictures of my father on board the ship somewhere. I don't know where I can find them but will try to locate.

I have seen pictures of the ceremony performed when crossing the equator. I heard him talk of visiting Haiti and Cuba and pictures of that as I remember. I hope I can find them. Again I appreciate your work in this "preservation" project.

Thanks
Charles W. Erasmi
