USS SLC..."Enlisted Navy...James J. "Jim" Fratianni, RM1c

US FLAG Jim passed away on August 1st, 2004 at the age of 85. He and Betty had been married 59 years and had one daughter. Betty said Jim was very active all his life up until the last 8 years when he became ill, and even then he stayed as active as much as he could.

I am writing this E mail to express my deepest appreciation for the wonderful site that you have created. The Lord be with you. Many Many thanks.

I enlisted in the Navy on Nov. 14th, 1940 and went aboard the SLC in March of 1941. I left the SLC in Nov. 1944 when I was sent back to the States for radio electronics school. Of course we know where the SLC was on 7th of Dec. I was discharged from the Navy in Nov. of 1945.

Thanks again for the wonderful experience.
