USS SLC..."Officers"...William E. Knight, Ensign

US FLAG William E. Knight passed away on October 10, 1992
Feb. 15th, 2000

Sandy,

My brother found your website and forwarded it to my attention. We both enjoyed reading all of the information you have pulled together. Our Father, William E. Knight served as an Ensign on the Salt Lake City during WWII. It is not something he talked about very much but in his belongings we have his officer's pass and other records of his military service. We would love to see his name on the roster of those that served because we think it would have meaning to be recognized, even though he is no longer alive to see this record.

I found his officers pass which is a card that states he was an ensign on the USS Salt Lake City.

On his military service summary it states he served from 1940 - 1942 as Ensign USNR D-V-G, U.S.S. Salt Lake City; Hiw. Div Pac Fleet.

We appreciate your time and effort on the website.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Nancy Knight Garner..(Dau.)
Matt Knight...(Son)
