My name is Robert Laudati. I am the youngest child of Vito Laudati who served on the USS Salt Lake City during WWII. He is listed as a crew member on your web site. My father does not use a computer so he wanted me to pass along this information to you. My father retired as a seaman first class.

In 1949 he married Beverly Hense. They had eight children. My father worked as a machinist after the war for TRW Corporation. They lived in Chicago up until 1971, then moved to Elmwood Park, IL where he still lives to this day. His wife and our mom passed away in 2004 after 55 years of marriage. We had a scare in October 2006. Vito had triple bypass surgurey. After being in the hospital for over a month, he is doing much better and we are preparing for his 80th birthday on May 3, 2007.

In addition to eight children, my father has 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. I would like to join him in your association and possibly take him to a reunion. I grew up hearing so many stories about the Salt Lake City and I know he would enjoy meeting his fellow veterans. I will send you some photos from then and now as soon as I can track them down.
