US FLAG Francis S. Lebuda passed away on August 13, 1990 in Oxnard, California.

Sept. 27th, 2005
Hi Sandy,

My father was on board the Salt Lake City before the war. I have photos that were taken in Hawaii aboard the ship in 1940. His department was engineering and his is rank was a machinist mate 1st class. He entered the service in 7/9/1935 and soon after attending school joined the Salt Lake City he left her on Oct. 13, 1941 when he was discharged from the navy with an honorable discharge. He was later recalled into the service where he served on the Portland for the remainder of the war.

My father, like many of our Veterans, was a fine man with honor and was proud to have served his country.

Thank you for remembering our noble veterans

Karen Forino
