Dear Mrs.Eskew,

I had thought that it was my Paternal Grandfather S2 Raymond William LeMay Sr. of Cohoes, Albany County, NY.

He was on board the USS Salt Lake City sometime in August of 1945. As his leave is written down from August 9th to August 16th. He was in V-6 Division. He was an Armed Guard and trained on the Anti-Aircraft guns as well as construction of ships.

So I guess he was a fighting seabee.

He got around quite alot. Served aboard a great deal of liberty ships.

Me and my father poured over the picture but we are not sure it's him; looks a bit like him.

Maybe you have someone you know who could be the judge of this. I am enclosing several photos of my Grandfather while in the Navy and on his marriage day in 1948.

Thank you for your help.

Yours,
Raymond LeMay III
