Completed Basic @ San Diego in Aug. 1934.
Aug. 1934 reported to the U.S.S. Salt Lake City (Engine-rooms and Fire-rooms)
Left the SLC in May 1938.

Feb. 19, 1935 Completed Fireman Second Class with a mark of 3.92 (Certificate signed by I.C. Johnson, Jr., Captain and J. Corry, Ensign)

June 23, 1936 Completed Fireman First Class with a mark of 3.7 (Certificate signed by Allan S. Farquhar, Captain and J. D. Goff, Chief Machinist)

May 1938 to Sept. 1939 Broken Service

Sept 1939 to Aug 1943 U.S.S. Macleish (DD-220) as Senior Eng. Chief

I am still going thru pictures. I am sure there is one somewhere.

Also, I found a brass/gold medallion with R. P. Loucks engraved that states Dad was duly initiated into the solemn mysteries of the realm of the raging main". I do not remember seeing this before. It was tucked in the corner of one of Moms jewelry boxes.
