USS SLC...USMC...Keith Jack McKim, Gunnery Sgt.

US FLAG Keith J. McKim passed away in 1974. Information from his son Kip McKim
July 28th, 2011

#1 photo in group photo #137 is my father, Keith Jack McKim USMC. I believe he is also in group photo #135, person #27. I do not know his rank at the time of this photo but he was a Gunnery Sgt. when released from military duty.

My dad passed away when I was 22 years old in 1974. I was a 3rd class petty officer in the Navy at the time and I'm certain he would have been proud to watch his son continue in the Navy enlisted ranks to retire as a Naval Officer serving honorably on numerous surface ships and submarines. Thank you for reuniting me with him.

I also have a coin about the size of a fifty cent piece which has the imprint of the ship Salt Lake City on one side and on the other side is written U.S.S. Salt Lake City, 10 Cent, Ship's Service Credit Token. Have you seen or heard of these tokens? I only have this one and found your website looking for a similar coin. [See Coin Below]

Thank-you again! Great Website!!
