A plea to the folks at home to keep up their good work on the home front, so men in the armed forces can keep up their end on the fighting front is voiced by Marvin E. Metzler, radio electrician in the United States Navy, and former Fresno Technical High School student, in a letter received here by his former teachers.

"We are definitely winning this war, so you keep supplying us with the necessary materials and we will use them to 'keep 'em sinkin,'" he said. "Your scrap metal drive is wonderful. Keep it up, and we will keep up our end of the deal."

Letters from home, Metzler said, are greatly appreciated by men in the service.

"Just a few words mean so much. We will never give up until the little yellow men are begging forgiveness, and maybe not then. But it makes one want to fight just that much harder when you know the people at home are backing you up with everything they have."

Metzler joined the navy five years ago, and for the past two years has been stationed aboard the USS Salt Lake City.
