USS SLC..."Enlisted Navy"...Thomas T. Porter, S1c

April 4th, 2000

Hi,

I understand my father was on the Salt Lake City. I've contacted several Naval Departments and sent in the forms required but have not recieved any info. (Last year)

On your list of servicemen there is a T. Porter, I'm assuming that's my father, Thomas Tracy Porter. I would love to find his service record etc. I do know he served twice and the ultimate would be to find someone who knew him.

What should I do next?

Here are several pics of my dad in his uniform.

Unfortunately the group pic just says " and friends" on the back, no names.

In the picture with two men, my Dad is on the left, thats his brother Forest Porter on the right. Apparently they met up in Hawaii. My uncle was on The Yorktown.

I appreciate what you're doing!! Your website is fabulous and I"m sure you've made your dad proud!!

Thanks!
Tina Porter DeJager
