A SALUTE TO THE REST OF THE CREW
by USS SLC Veteran Don Rholl 1997 Reunion |
This reunion tonight of our Salt Lake mates Is wonderful for me and for you. But while we renew old friendships, Let's remember the rest of the crew. Some of our shipmates live so far away They just couldn't make it tonight. Some were not located you know, And we hope each one is all right. All served well in the great World War But some never made it through. They fought for a cause we all thought just And they're much a part of us too. Over the years while we labored on Some shipmates were lost on the way. But still they're members of our crew As they were during the fray. Let's stand for a moment to honor them all And recall the great times we knew On the Swayback Maru in the biggest of wars. Please, a moment of silence or two. Lord God, we pray your blessing on them, And wish they all were here too. For there's not a full roster tonight unless We remember the rest of the crew |
