Dear Sandy,

Here is my brief history of my service in the Navy and my time on the USS Salt Lake City, CA25.

I enlisted at the Brooklin Navy Yard on Jan. 26th, 1942 and reported to boot camp at Newport, RI. in Feb. 1942. I reported to sheetmetal school in San Diego, CA. in April of 1942.

I then reported to the US Submarine Base at Pearl Harbor in Aug. of 1942 as Fireman 1/c. I then reported on the USS SALT LAKE CITY in Feb. 1943 as SF3c. I served in the "R" Division while on the SLC until my discharge.

I was discharged at Ledo Beach, Long Island on Nov. 11, 1945 with SF1c rating.

Thanking you, I remain Sincerely
Martin Roppolo
