Information on Lloyd C. Stone was sent in by SLC Veteran John Goins of Shreveport, LA.

US FLAG Lloyd Coleman Stone, Jr., 78, of McLeod, TX went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2004 at LifeCare Hospital of Shreveport following a brief illness. He was born in Mansfield, LA on November 23, 1925.

Lloyd served in the United States Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Salt Lake City.

He worked for 32 years at Atlas Refinery/Pennzoil and retired in 1990. Lloyd was a member of the Grand Lodge of LA, F. & A.M. Queensboro Masonic Lodge #418 of Shreveport, the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry of Shreveport and the El Karubah Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S. of Shreveport. He was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church of Vivian, LA.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Nelda Crawford Stone; son, Rodney Stone and wife, Diane; three grandchildren, Kyle, Anna and Cody Stone of McLeod, TX; and sister, Pat Langevin of Las Vegas, NV.

Services were held at the Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel in Shreveport on Thursday, July 8, 2004. Officiating was Rev. Dwight Bird, formerly of Walnut Hill Baptist Church. Interment followed in Springhill Cemetery, Ringgold, LA.
