He was a 6' 3 blonde hair, blue eyed devil apparently. He ran moonshine after his father died to feed the family on the farm before he was married. His first marriage that lasted a year happened simply because his mom said he couldn't. Also he left my grandma at one point early on for a Vegas Show girl. Then eventually came home. Grandma never loved anyone else, even after his death. These are the tales I know of!! Looking at all this stuff there might be a book that could be written just about him! LoL!

Supposedly....he was on the ships boxing team and beat the New Zealand light heavy weight champ during an exhibition. I couldn't find anything resembling proof about him even being on the boxing team, so... LoL.

Side story (not military time, but more about his character) he and a buddy stole a monkey from a zoo one night. They eventually returned it, but he was not above having too much fun. LoL!

Hi Sandra, my name is Kristine Smith. I am L.C. Wilson's daughter. My father was a wonderful man and a proud Marine, but he didn't talk much about his experiences during WWII, aboard the USS Salt Lake City. You have been so helpful working with my son Zachariah Brown, and I wanted you to know that I appreciate it very much.
