I very was very excited when I recently discovered the Salt Lake City web site. My father, Floyd Lee York, served on the USS Salt Lake City from '43 to April of '46 as a Fire Control seaman. I have attached a photo that perhaps you can add to the web page. Unfortunately, my father suffers from Alzheimer and will never know of the SLC Association. He is currently living in a Oklahoma Veteran's Center.
Update: Apr. 1st, 2022 I have recently came across a photo of my father and Eddie Schmidt who were buddies during their tour together on the USS Salt Lake City. I also have a white linen table cloth that my dad brought back from the ship that I would love to donate to the organization. Rudy York |
