Marines, abt. 1938, from the USS SALT LAKE CITY and members of the Fred Meyer Industrial League Softball Team posed before a battle royal the other evening at Alberta park. The Fred Meyer Team reversed the traditional heavy naval guns and shelled the marines 16 runs to 12. The marines played bang-up ball and their sportsmanship during the hard-fought game was commendable. |
