USS SLC...USN...Jewel E. Aldridge, GM3c

US FLAG Jewel E. Aldridge passed away on Oct. 7th, 2005
Jun. 21st, 2009

My father served on the USS Salt Lake City! His name was Jewel E Aldridge...I am very proud to pass down the stories he told me of his days in the Navy! I miss him greatly, as he passed away 10/07/05.

My dad told of all the battles he fought in and how it was on the ship. Also how he watched some of his friends die! His uniform and a Jap flag and sword burned in a fire right after he came back. He had pictures I believe of his mates and other things. I have 2 pictures of him that I will scan and send! God bless you and your work and God Bless America!

He is #26 in the 5th Division, Dec. 11th, 1943 Picture! Thank you so much for this! To get this on fathers day is great!

After leaving the Navy and being so affected by the war, my dad took up Bible study and learned much about how wars would end! He discovered that Gods Kingdom ruled by Jesus Christ would make all wars to cease! He told everyone he could about this and shared this hope with others! Daniel 2:44 was one of his favorite scriptures to read to others.
