Sandy

My uncle Lacey E. Bennett was a gunnersmate on the USS West Virginia, then he served aboard the CA-25 USS Salt Lake City shortly after Pearl until his transfer to the Lady Lexington CV2

I have in my possession his cruise book from the Salt Lake City which I shared with the survivors association during their attendance of the commissioning ceremonies for my sub SSN-716 Salt Lake City in 1985. It is a strange parallel that I served on a ship and in a state each bearing the same name as vessels that Lacey served on. His cruise book is annotated with a list of shipmates from the W.V.

I am, due to my navy background, the families memory for him. Thanks for listing his name.

Phillip Bennett...Nephew

Lacey also served on the USS WEST VIRGINIA BB-48
