US FLAG Lamar R. "Jake" Brunson passed away on Oct. 20th, 2013. Information from family member.
10 Oct 1999
Dear Sandy,
I recognized the picture of your dad. I probably ran across him during the years that we were aboard ship. The number of people we came in contact with, it would be hard to remember some unless there was special contact. I served aboard the USS Salt Lake City from 1943-1946.

I was a PHM First Class. My job there was to keep medical supplies in the store room. I had other duties but that was my main job. The Salt Lake was in it all and I count my blessings every day. I had my 76 birthday last May 22. I have had a good healthy life of which I am grateful.

Best regards,

Lamar Brunson
