My father, Robert Drust, passed away on Nov. 29th, 2003. His fondest memories continued to be of his time in the Navy and he proudly wore his USS Salt Lake hat until his death. The following is his obituary: Robert "Bob" Drust Published Monday, December 1, 2003 Robert "Bob" Charles Drust, 81, of Fort Collins, passed away on Nov. 29, 2003, at the Columbine Life Center. Bob was born Oct. 10, 1922, in Detroit. Bob retired from the Navy in 1961. He served on the U.S.S. Salt Lake City during World War II. He also served on various Naval Air Stations, where he met his wife, Rose Lenz. They were married June 28, 1952. Bob is survived by his wife, Rose; daughter, Linda Turner and husband, Tom; Linda's children, Gregg and Fawn Trepka; son, Jeff and wife, Cindy Wren; son, Lloyd; daughter, Donna Ritzen and husband, Scott and their children, John, Nicole and Joseph; daughter, Joan McGraw and husband, Mike, and their children, Shane and Conor; two sisters, Marion and Betty; and one niece and five nephews. A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Allnutt Funeral Home/Drake Road Chapel. Memorial gifts can be made to Columbine Care Center West or Hospice of Larimer County in care of Allnutt Funeral Service/Drake Road Chapel, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
