US FLAG Cornell L. Fabisack passed away on December 17th, 1993
Sept. 14th, 2004

Information from copies of documents sent in by Cornell's youngest brother, Glenn Fabisack.

Cornell was born Nov. 12th, 1922 in San Antonio, TX. He was a single young man when he enlisted in the Navy on Sept. 19th, 1941 in Houston, TX. He went to Naval Training School in San Diego, CA..

The records show he completed a 2 week course in Gunnery School, AATC Pearl Harbor, but does not give a date. According to the USS SLC CA25 Official Deck Logs, he boarded the Swayback Maru on Jan. 11th, 1942 from the Receiving Station at Pearl Harbor.

Other records show he received a copy of the Navy Unit Commendation Award that the USS SLC CA25 received for outstanding heroism displayed during the Battle of the Komandorski Islands on March 26th, 1943.
