I am connected to Percy Glen Higgins, Jr., AMM1c (at least I believe I have the correct one connection). He was my childhood neighbor but more like a grandfather. He never had any children, but he & his wife, Sophie or as we called her Sue, kind of "adopted" our family as their own.

I decided over the last few days that I wanted to honor their memory by collecting information and keep it with my family history, we may not have had blood ties but the family bond was there. I only wished I had thought of this before and found your site before. I had seen one of the guys remembered him but also passed away in '06. Oh how I would have loved to talked to him.

Percy or as most of us here called him Red, passed away Feb. 18, 1998 I don't know if you have any more information on him that I could use to confirm the connection I think I made. I have his birthdate and SSN, and we do have some of their photos. I know he flew for the navy as well. Well thank you for your time and thank you for putting together this site you have done a fabulous job of it!
