USS SLC...Enlisted Navy...William Finley Hodnett, EM2c

US FLAG William F. Hodnett passed away on April 13th, 1976
August 19th, 2002

Dear Sandy,

I was so thrilled to find your website on the USS Salt Lake City. My father served in WWII on the SLC. After a little surfing I located a picture of him but not any other information. My father died when I was 15 and was an older dad so all I have is written information such as Navy ribbons and some dates. His name was William Finley Hodnett. His rank was EM2 v-6. If you have any other information or pictures please let me know and maybe I can fill in some blanks that you may not have.

He served in the Navy from Feb. 14th, 1942 until Nov. 22, 1945. He boarded the USS SLC on Dec. 22, 1942 [Boarding date from Deck Log Records]

Sincerely,
Julie Block
