Ivar G. Kloo passed away on April 26, 2001 at the age of 76
My grandfather [Dzadiju, grandpa in Polish] was a wonderful man. I admired him so much.
I am just grateful that I had the time with him that I did.

Ivar G. Kloo, 76, of East Hartford, husband of the late Wanda
(Leszczynski) Kloo, died Thursday, April 26, 2001. He was born
September 17, 1924 in Hartford the son of the late Ivar K. and Lily
(Boethius) Kloo.
Ivar was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II aboard
the USS Salt Lake City. He was also a member of the
USS Salt Lake City Association.
He retired in 1990 as a compositor from Eastern Typesetting after 32 years
of employment.
Ivar is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Edmond Thurz of
East Hartford; two sisters, Elsie and her husband, Bud Wetmore of East
Hartford and Ellen Altschuler of Williamstown, MA; four grandchildren,
Stacey Novotasky, Christina and Robert Valerio, Kimberly Thurz and Edmond
Thurz, Jr.; two great grandchildren, Jason and Sierra; several nieces and
nephews. In addition to his wife Wanda, he was predeceased by a daughter,
Rosemary Flood; a brother, Norman Kloo, a brother Leonard Kloo and two grandchildren Todd and Keri
Lynn Novotasky.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. at Rose Hill
Funeral Home, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in Rose
Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours are Monday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral
home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ivar's memory may be made to St.
Francis Cancer Center Fund Development, 114 Woodland Street, Hartford,
CT 06105.
