Wow
I am so extremely impressed with this web site, my name is David D. Laycock, my father is Robert L. Laycock, my cousin's son found this web site, he is only 10 years old, he is very interested in the history of WW II, I told him that my dad a was a gunner's mate on the USS SALT LAKE CITY, he searched the Internet and found this wonderful site. The good news is that my dad just turned 82 years old, he lives with me now along with my 76 years young mother.
Dec. 22nd, 2003 I just wanted to thank you for your great work on this website! I found this site when me and my 10yr old son were looking for my uncle's [R.L. Laycock] ship. Not only did we find his ship we found the history of the ship and his shipmates. After we read the site we e-mailed my cousin Dave Laycock about the site! He wrote back thanking me about the info. and we talked on the telephone for about an hour and he said he was in contact with you and that my uncle has info. about some shipmates he served with on the Great USS SALT LAKE CITY! thats awsome!!! It is amazing what you can find if look for it.(my son said) Thanks again for the hard work, and the history our families share together. And all the crew that served on her.
