USS SLC...Enlisted Navy...Jack S. Walsh, FCO3c

US FLAG Jack S. Walsh passed away on Sept. 10, 1989 at the age of 67 due to cancer
Dear Sandy,

My father, Jack S. Walsh, entered the Navy during the summer or fall of '42. He spent some quality time at Camp Farragut in Idaho, then joined the ship. His designation, after his name on the list of men serving on the SLC, was FCO3c [Fire Controlman 3c].

You are surely doing a wonderful thing for the brave guys on the SLC. If my dad were here to contact some of the guys, I'm sure he would.

He died on Sept. 10, 1989 at the age of 67 due to cancer. He had it for many years; went through several operations; endured years of pain without complaint. Probably not a new story about the tough guys on the SLC.

Thank you,
Jack (Walsh) St. Clair
