Message from daughter, Cindy Eskeli

My father, Richard "Brownie" G. Brown, was born, Dec. 7, 1922 & served on the USS Salt Lake City during WWII. I am on a mission to find any remaining crew members for him to correspond with. If you, or someone you know can help me find anything that would be of interest to him, we would be very appreciative.

"Brownie" was diagnosed with Lymphoma recently and has been a bit depressed. I noticed he enjoys speaking of the war and reminiscing about SLC. It only just occurred to me this morning to look for a web site. There were a few listed in the search and yours is the one I visited.

I printed out some information in the shipmates page and gave it to him. He was too tired at the time to come over and browse your site but just looking over the pages peaked his curiosity enough to find the energy to come see what I had found. Now, he has a lot of photos and we have a project we can work on together, looking through them, scanning them and sending them to you for your site. I never knew he was the "barber". I bet a lot of the crew will remember him, he is very excited.

Please share my e-mail address when associating his name with correspondences and feel free to invite them to send him a note. Anybody that might be interested in a pen-pal situation is more than welcome.

Thank you for helping to put a smile on his face.
Sincerely,
Cindy Eskeli
