US FLAG Fred F. Heavilon passed away on Jun. 28th, 2018 at the age of 96. Information from daughter Delva Roberts.

Fred was a single 19 year old living in Indiana when he entered the Navy. He went through Boot Camp in Great Lakes, IL.

He boarded the USS SLC CA25 in Feb. of 1941 at Mare Island & served on her until 1945.

While on board he was assigned to the 6th Division. His commanding officer was ball-red-02 Deceased John N. Boland, Lt. Comdr.

Fred was in the Navy until 1955.
