US FLAG Bob Heffner passed away on July 20, 1957 in Bryson City, NC. of a heart attack
March 23rd, 2004
Sandy,

I am Bob (B. S.) Heffner's son Mike, and wanted to say thank you for the website.

I didn't know dad was pictured here, but am happy to see him.

My dad died July 20, 1957 in Bryson City, NC. of a heart attack. He had rheumatic fever as a child. We actually lived across the street from the hospital, so he walked across the two lane road one evening when having chest pains and died a little later from a heart attack.

I was almost 3 when he died, but my Mom is still living. She is 85 and has lots of Dad's service information at home.

Also, on my wall as a child, was a picture of the Salt Lake City! It is still in my old bedroom at home.

Dad has a brother and sister still living, and I also have a sister, Judy, in Charlotte, NC.

I plan to join the association and just wanted to touch base with you and let you know another one of us is out here and thankful for the time and effort you put into this wonderful website.

Best regards,

Mike Heffner, son
Lexington, NC
