US FLAG Maurice Carl Saeger passed away on July 16th, 2003

Maurice enlisted in the USMC on Dec. 7th, 1943 in Chicago, IL. to serve during national emergency. He served with the Marine Detachment aboard the USS Salt Lake City.

Due to unavoidable war conditions the information on this discharge certificate is incomplete.

While aboard the SLC, he participated in the following operations:
Wake Island, Sept. 3, 1944
Marcus Island, Oct. 9, 1944
Philippine Liberation, Oct. 23-26, 1944
Bonin Islands, Jan. 5, 1945
Iwo Jima, Feb. 15, 1945-Mar. 13, 1945
Okinawa, Mar. 25, 1945- May 27, 1945
Honshu, Japan, Sept. 7, 1945-Oct. 12, 1945
