Sandy,

I hope this letter finds you well. I recently gained access to the Internet and email so I thought that I would send you some pictures, not only of myself, but shipmates as well.

I enlisted in the Marines on December 14, 1943 in Detroit, MI. and boarded the SLC May 10th, 1944. I left the ship in October of 1945 and from there went to the Naval Station in Great Lakes, IL. where I was discharged.

Thank you very much for your time and effort to the website. The stories, pictures and information is a great reminder of the times and friends that I met over those two years.

Kind regards,
Nayef

PS: My grandson Christopher is helping me with email while I get a computer, so please feel free to include him on a response just in case I don't have things set up yet.
