USS SLC...Enlisted Navy...Anthony R. Wiederholt, S1c

US FLAG Tony passed away in his sleep on Sat. Oct. 11th, 2009. Information from niece, Marla McCrary
Marla said that Tony's USS SLC CA25 hat will be buried with him.
Note from Sandy E.
Tony lost all of his pictures from his Navy days in a home fire. I gathered up some pictures and sent them to him to help replace just a few of what he had lost. It was Tony's wish that all of his pictures be displayed in the Tri-C Community Museum in Clyde, MO. where he grew up in the Stanberry/Clyde MO. area.

I entered the service as a single man at the age of 19 and went to Boot Camp at the Naval Training Station in Farragut, ID. in April of 1943. I was in Company 211.

I boarded the USS SLC CA25 in Aug. of 1943 and served on her until Jan. of 1946. I was in the "L" Division.... also called "Lookout" & "Love" Division.

I remember SLC Veterans
