Hello Sandy. I've attached some photos that I took at Jacksonville Cemetery in Jacksonville, OR yesterday. (We are on a cross country road trip and happened to be in Oregon this week). I saw a grave for an infant belonging to the Colvig family, which led me to the other family graves. I was looking for a death notice for the baby just to see what happened to her. Instead, one thing led me to another and I became interested in the grave of a navy man who was killed in WWII, that of Winsor Colvig Gale.

When I came upon your website, I was able to see a photo of the very handsome Lt. Cmdr as well as the story of how he died. Then I saw the posts from Dave McGougan, Jr regarding his father, Arch. How fascinating to be able to find all this online! I now feel as though I have a "connection" with this brave man who gave his life for our country. Thank you for putting this website together. Just think, my curiosity about an infant death and what her family must have been like led me to discover information about this man, Lt. Cmdr. Winsor C. Gale.

I enjoy walking through cemeteries and wondering what each of the lives were like. It's amazing that I now have all this information just from looking at one headstone! Wow!

Thank you again.
